Steve Adey Remix

A Marble Calm's reinterpretation of Mississippi, the excellent Blue Nile-esque closing track to Steve Adey's debut album 'All Thing's Real' is now available from the Burning Shed Download Store, along with mixes from Kramer, Sweet Billy Pilgrim, and Black Sheep (exlusive to Burning Shed). This mix also forms part of the Blue Turns to Grey vinyl release on ToneFloat.

The remix EP is also available from iTunes - I think this the first track I've had available through them. I can't work out linking to iTunes, so you'd need to search on 'Mississippi' or 'Steve Adey'. And why not download his album while you're at it...

Lots of other things going on, but due to a house move, not much being finished. More updates soon!

Another World Reviewed on Anti-Hit List

'Another World' from 'Surfacing' has been included on the 30th July edition of the Anti-Hit List, influential Toronto journalist John Sakamoto's weekly critical look at the best music outside the mainstream:

"Among the influences listed on the website of this mesmerizing collective are Sigur Ros’s (), Talk Talk’s Spirit of Eden and Keith Jarrett’s Koln Concert, to which we would humbly add the ECM roster in general and latter-day David Sylvian in particular. The effect is akin to contemplating the stillness of a pond that’s surrounded by spectators whose guiding principle is to subtly alter the environment while barely disturbing the surface."

Restless / Jon Hart solo tracks

An exclusive new track, entitled 'Restless' is now available from Burning Shed's mp3 downloads page. Shimmering guitars, marimba textures and found sounds form a backdrop for Chilvers' wandering electric piano and fretless bass in a meditative instrumental that recalls Labradford and Harold Budd.

A collection of five solo tracks from Jon Hart, produced by Peter Chilvers is also available.

Mp3s

Two mp3s are available exclusively for download from Burning Shed. 'Submerging Flutes' is an alternative version of the final track from 'Surfacing', featuring flute textures from Theo Travis. 'Ringinglow' is a brand new 12 minute instrumental, recorded especially for mp3 release.

You'll need to set up a download account before you can download, and mp3s cost roughly £1.10 for Submerging Flutes, and £1.80 for Ringinglow.
