I&#8217;m extremely proud to have worked on such an extraordinary album.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Eno-The-Ship.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Eno-The-Ship-300x114.jpg\" alt=\"Eno The Ship\" width=\"300\" height=\"114\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-111\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Eno-The-Ship-300x114.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Eno-The-Ship-768x292.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Eno-The-Ship.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThis is the most I&#8217;ve been involved with one of Brian&#8217;s albums. In addition to recording, I&#8217;ve been credited for the first time as Assistant Producer, a role I drifted into without realising it. I&#8217;ve also played keyboards on most of the tracks, including the gorgeous cover of I&#8217;m Set Free that ends the album. I&#8217;m very pleased to be on a track with Leo Abrahams and Jon Hopkins, two musicians I greatly admire, even if I recorded my part twelve years after theirs!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/EnoShipCreditsCropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/EnoShipCreditsCropped-300x245.jpg\" alt=\"EnoShipCreditsCropped\" width=\"300\" height=\"245\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-132\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/EnoShipCreditsCropped-300x245.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/EnoShipCreditsCropped-768x628.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/EnoShipCreditsCropped-1024x838.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/EnoShipCreditsCropped.jpg 1319w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been fascinating seeing the album develop from a series of studio experiments on multiple speakers through installations in Stockholm and Barcelona and back to the studio again. The result, to my ears, is an album unlike anything else Brian, or anyone else for that matter, has done before.<\/p>\n<p>The Ship has been receiving some great reviews, but <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/arts\/music\/2016\/04\/27\/album-review-brian-eno-the-ship\/53pCrQsSYCJ4mnguXuF7KN\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Boston Globe&#8217;s<\/a> one is hard to top:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The experimental-listening event of the year&#8230; one of music\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s most creative forces is only now reaching the zenith of his artistry.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brian Eno&#8217;s latest album &#8220;The Ship&#8221; has at last been released today.
