I\u2019m thrilled to announce that Dust 4<\/a>, the first album length instalment to the Dust series, will be released on the Curious Music label on 15th August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album will be released digitally on all streaming platforms, with a Dolby Atmos mix available via Apple Music and TIDAL) and a stunning 60-minute companion film, created in parallel with the album by filmmaker Dion Johnson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dust 4 took root in a series of experiments in performing the music of Dust 1-3 live. Rather than creating carbon copies of the original compositions, I was far more interested in abstracting the thoughts, processes and techniques behind them, then using those to improvise new compositions in realtime. I began playing like this while watching Dion Johnson\u2019s beautiful drone footage, and this suggested a natural structure ; the separate pieces began to link together and became an album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two teaser tracks, Frosted World and The Unbroken Sky are already available, as well as Gathering Dust, a 17 minute mini-documentary showing the live construction of one of the tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
