{"id":23,"date":"2010-09-12T08:41:18","date_gmt":"2010-09-12T08:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/?p=23"},"modified":"2010-09-12T09:08:47","modified_gmt":"2010-09-12T09:08:47","slug":"bloom-hd-brighton-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/?p=23","title":{"rendered":"Bloom HD \/ Brighton Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Bloom HD\" href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/bloom-hd\/id373957864?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\">Bloom HD<\/a>, the iPad version of <a title=\"Bloom (iPhone)\" href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/bloom\/id292792586?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\">Bloom<\/a>, created with Brian Eno was released in May, and became the #1 selling music app on the iPad in the US, the UK and Japan. Although the main functionality is unchanged, the app has been given a completely new interface design (thanks to Brett Gilbert, who was also involved in our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brettspiel.co.uk\/2009\/09\/design-of-other-things-bloom-trope-air.html\" target=\"_blank\">other apps<\/a>). We&#8217;re really pleased with it &#8211; I think it&#8217;s a more immersive experience altogether on a larger screen.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_25\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/app\/bloom-hd\/id373957864?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-25\" title=\"bloom_logo\" src=\"http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/bloom_logo-150x150.png\" alt=\"Bloom\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/bloom_logo-150x150.png 150w, http:\/\/www.peterchilvers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/bloom_logo.png 190w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-25\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bloom HD (iPad application)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I completed most of the development in Brighton, where Brian had been invited to be Guest Artistic Director. As with the Luminous Festival in Sydney the previous year, I was assisting Brian on the Pure Scenius and Tales of the Afterlives performances. I had thought both had been one-offs; it was fantastic to see them performed again from ringside seat. Other highlights of the festival included\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamthinkspeak.com\/sleep.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Before I Sleep<\/a>, which transformed a vast derelict superstore into an interpretation of Chekov&#8217;s Cherry Orchard, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icebreaker.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ice Breaker<\/a>&#8216;s live soundtrack to Apollo and an Afro Beat workout from\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/seunkuti\" target=\"_blank\">Seun Kuti<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I also enjoyed one too many cooked breakfasts by the sea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bloom HD, the iPad version of Bloom, created with Brian Eno was released in May, and became the #1 selling music app on the iPad in the US, the UK and Japan.
